About Dave Shipsey
Dave Shipsey is a registered acupuncturist with over twenty years in practice he has an honours degree (B.Sc Hons) in Biological Science. He is an Author (“Mastering the Art of Abdominal Acupuncture, a concise guide to treating numerous painful conditions”) and an internationally renowned teacher of Abdominal Acupuncture & Buteyko Breathing. Dave is a hypnotherapist and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner. I can help you to make the changes you want, so that you can be the best version of yourself. I can help you become free of habits, fears / phobias, self limiting beliefs, emotional and physical pain.
Dave specialises in treating all types of painful conditions (both acute and Chronic).
He studied acupuncture full time at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing China. He also completed 1 year of Clinical and medical acupuncture internships at some of the major city of Nanjing hospitals. Dave has worked with eminent doctors, gaining experience in women’s health, pain management, stroke rehabilitation, neurological conditions, cancer management, digestive and fertility problems.
Dave is continuously furthering his acupuncture knowledge and has trained with many of the world experts; including Dr. Tan (Global Balance), Bob Doane (Pulse Diagnosis), Bob Flaws, Giovanni Maciocia, Daverick Leggett, Zita West, Dr. Wang Ju – Yi, and Dr. Zhou Jin and many others. Dave also uses Master Tung and other distal acupuncture methods. My speciality is Abdominal Acupuncture which can be combined with other methods to ensure you the best therapeutic results possible.
In 2009 I became an affiliated acupuncturist to the world-renowned Zita West fertility clinics.
I have been working with the Finglas Addiction Support Team (FAST) since 2007. FAST helps clients with substance abuse problems and is funded by the drug task force.
As a life long sufferer of asthma, I sought treatment through Buteyko Breathing. As a consequence of my asthma cure I decided to train as a Buteyko Breathing teacher. I am now a certified teacher and member of the Buteyko Breathing Association (BBA).
I featured on Joe Duffy’s TV show, “Spirit Level” which was on RTE 1 from January 3rd until February 7th. You can view it in the media section of this site. I have also been featured on RTE’s “The Health Squad” and on a TV3 news feature on complementary medicine. I have had several articles in national newspapers including the Sunday Business Post, Ireland on Sunday, and Irish Tatler magazine.
