Dave Shipsey is a registered acupuncturist with over twenty years in practice he has an honours degree in Biological Science (B.Sc.). An Author (“Mastering the Art of Abdominal Acupuncture, a concise guide to treating numerous painful conditions”) and an international teacher of Abdominal Acupuncture & Buteyko Breathing. He has recently qualified as a Hypnotherapist and a Neuro – Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.
Dave specialises in treating all types of painful conditions (both acute and Chronic). As an NLP practitioner I also treat fears, phobia’s, self limiting beliefs and combined with acupuncture treat anxiety and lack of confidence. Hypnotherapy can help with all kinds of habitual and self sabotage patterns it can also be a powerful way of helping with reducing chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, self doubt and problems with fertility. NLP and Hypnotherapy sessions can be done on a one : one basis either online or in person.
Dave’s Training
He studied acupuncture full time at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing China. Dave also completed 1 year of Clinical and medical acupuncture internships at some of the major city hospitals in Nanjing (PRC). The hospitals that I worked in with eminent doctors, gave me great experience in various areas of health care, including;
- Women’s health and both Male & Female fertility issues
- Muscular-skeletal problems and pain management,
- Stroke rehabilitation,
- Neurological conditions,
- Digestive health
I recently qualified as an Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner and Hypnotherapist with world renowned life coach and Hypnotherapist Ali Campbell.
Further Education
Dave is continuously furthering his acupuncture knowledge and has trained with many of the world experts, including Dr. Tan (Global Balance), Bob Doane (Pulse Diagnosis), Bob Flaws, Giovanni Maciocia, Daverick Leggett, Zita West, Dr. Wang Ju – Yi, and Dr. Zhou Jin and many others. Dave also uses Master Tung and other distal acupuncture methods . I have studied Motor Point acupuncture with Dr. Richard Hazel and electro acupuncture with Dr. Jeremy Steiner so that you can be assured that you will achieve the best therapeutic results possible.
In 2009 he became an affiliated acupuncturist to the world-renowned Zita West fertility clinics.
Dave worked with the Finglas Addiction Support Team (FAST) for 14 years. Where he gained vast experience treating with substance abuse/addiction problems.
As a life long sufferer of asthma, I sought treatment through Buteyko Breathing. As a consequence of my asthma cure I decided to train as a Buteyko Breathing teacher. I am now a certified teacher and member of the Buteyko Breathing Association (BBA).
I featured on Joe Duffy’s TV show, “Spirit Level” which was on RTE 1 from January 3rd until February 7th. You can view it in the media section of this site. I have also been featured on RTE’s “The Health Squad” and on a TV3 news feature on complementary medicine. I have had several articles in national newspapers including the Sunday Business Post, Ireland on Sunday, and Irish Tatler magazine.
