Other Distal Acupuncture Modalities
Ear or Auricular Acupuncture
All distal acupuncture systems use other areas of the body to image or mirror the rest of the body. Because area’s of the body are reflected in the ear and therefore it effectively treats the whole body. This is similar to reflexology which uses the foot. Ear acupuncture is best known for its use in treating addictions such as quitting smoking (NADA protocol)
Ear acupuncture treats addictions such as alcohol, nicotine, and drugs such as cocaine, marijuana, and heroin. It effectively treats many other conditions including;
- Painful conditions including Backache / Sciatica
- Labour pain or to help induce labour
- Emotional problems
- Digestive conditions
- And many more
Benefits of Auricular Acupuncture
- Magnetic balls are tapped to the ear to exert effect for days (semi permanent).
- Ear points are easy to access.
- Ear points allow freedom to move such as during labour.
- Minimal discomfort and hardly noticeable (visually)
- Ideal way of keeping calm over stressful periods (Exams, interviews, presentations, etc)
Scalp Acupuncture
Scalp acupuncture is an amazing way to treat Neuromuscular problems and degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Muscular Sclerosis. Therefore it easily stops muscle spasm, and treats pain and paralysis as a result of a stroke.
The sensation from the needles is more of a tightness and the results can be immediate and powerful.
Wrist / Ankle Acupuncture
Wrist/ ankle therapy is a powerful and versatile form of acupuncture. It is particularly good for many painful conditions. As a result it gives rapid relief, and there is no sensation from it.
Distal Acupuncture
Distal acupuncture uses acupuncture points or areas of the body that are far away from the area where the problem is (similar to using a light switch downstairs to turn a light on upstairs). It includes methods such as Dr. Tan and Master Tung acupuncture. Different treatment methods offer new opportunities to give better results in a comfortable un-intrusive way. Dave has studied with some of the worlds most revered experts in Distal acupuncture, including Dr. Tan, Bob Doane, and Brad Whisnant.
Motor Point Acupuncture
This method uses the motor point and /or trigger points of muscles to release affected trapped or muscle spasms. By releasing tension or spasm in muscles, blood and nutrients can nourish and repair muscles and stop the pain.
