Buteyko can improve Irelands shocking Respiratory Health

Buteyko stops/ reduces symptoms of asthma

Buteyko breathing can help you to decrease asthma medication by up to 90%. As a lifetime sufferer of asthma I can attest to the incredible power of Buteyko breathing. It has given me control over my asthma rather than Asthma controlling me! I no longer need any medication and can control any symptoms should they (very rarely now) occur. I am no longer prone to exercise induced asthma and can cycle to work and take part in vigorous aerobic activity without any worries.
Your breathing and your health will improve as soon as you start to practice Buteyko breathing techniques. I use a unique fusion of acupuncture and buteyko breathing to ensure that you get the best results possible. Buteyko breathing involves breathing retraining and takes about 5 weekly 1 hour sessions to complete. A decrese in symptoms and general improvement will be obvious from the first week. This is a drug free program and is run in conjuction with your GP’s cooperation so that your asthma medication can be changed and reduced when you are ready.

Ireland’s Lung health is Fatal

Ireland has one of the worst respiratory health records in Europe according to 2 new reports http://uk.news.yahoo.com/ireland-bottom-european-lung-health-table-102731232.html#IOiGysT. 1 in 7 of us have an undiagnosed lung condition and Ireland has the lowest number of health specialists in the respiratory field. The report found a high prevalence of diseases such as asthma and cystic fibrosis as well as high hospital admission rates for COPD and respiratory infection and high death rates for interstitial lung disease, COPD and pneumonia. The Irish lung health alliance is currently running a lung health awareness program.

Asthma is a life threatening disease

There are 470,000 sufferers of asthma in Ireland and it causes about 80 deaths a year here, or more than one death every week. Around 22,000 people flock to A&E every year as a result of poorly managed asthma, and thousands are admitted to hospital each year.

Idris Elba, who stars as Nelson Mandela in the upcoming film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, was hospitalized earlier last week in the UK. He was on his way to attend the South African premiere of Mandela when he suffered a serious asthma attack before his flight.
